Most economical coup design

Here is a couple of pics of the one we're working on. Again...we have under 60$ so far in it and we think we can finish it with what we have.

We are always on the lookout for free wood. When my husband got back from Iraq, the wood crates (if you could call them that..they're as big as my car!) were going to be tossed. My husband dissembled them and brought them home. The most labor intensive part has been pulling the nails out. But it beats buying the wood. Plus we have a conversation piece. I bet we'll be the only ones with a chicken house who's wood has been to Iraq and sat in the desert for a year!

So you see...you can buy a kit and it doesn't have to be expensive. It just depends on how much foraging for materials you want to do. There are people on here who can build theirs for under 100$ and people on here who build theirs for 1500$. Just depends on how big your wallet is and how much time you have, I guess
