I know there is a thread on this already, but I can't find it.

Where did you end up getting your hardware cloth? Did you find 1/2 inch cheaper than $50/ 36"x 25' roll? (that's Lowes price... no shipping on it).

thanks,

mo

I got mine at wayfair.com I got the 4ft x 50 ft rolls / 3 of them, paid 180.00. they were offering free shipping and 10% off. I would buy it from them again, it was a good price and great product

What do you use the hardware cloth for if you don't mind answering! I try and read up on anything new that can benefit my chickens! Thanks!

Amazon or Wayfair, as long as you get free shipping. It's not often Lowes is cheaper than online, even with our 10% military discount.
We are using hardware cloth for the roof of our run.

Hardware cloth is used to keep one's chickens safe in the coop, run, tractor, etc. It's attached over openings and buried in the ground to keep predators out.

Is your run in a shaded spot or do you plan to cover with shade cloth?

I'm using the 1/2x1/2" hardware cloth for covering coop vent holes and the sides of my run. Using less expensive 2x4" welded wire fencing for the top and bottom of run... and welcome to BYC.

Went with Ace. Had the 48"x50' I was looking for and no shipping charge.

Our coop is inside the barn, and the run will be attached to the barn, so the chickens will be able to go in the barn as needed. The runs' walls are two portions of a three rail fence, with goat wire, one wall of the barn and we're making the other wall with goat wire panels. Then with the hardware cloth roof I'll be training vines around and over the run. We'll also have six posts inside the run, as roof support, which will also have vines climbing.
There are pictures of the barn and site for the run on my story.
