So cool, definitely gonna have to keep that in mind in the future! I once unintentionally crossed a big new hampshire red male with a bantam white cochin, and I got some of the most beautiful boys and girls outta that! The boys were black/irridescent green with flecks/lacing in the hackle and saddle that looked like actual peices of gold. They also had very very deep voices. Those boys could have been bass guitars, I mean they clucked and crowed deeper than any chicken I've ever had. The girls were all black but not really irridescent, with occasional dark rust red ticking. So strange, and I've always said I would try that cross again, and now I have something else to try! Thanks!! And truly, that expression on Mortimer's face is classic!
