Show off your hybrids! The birds will be judged according to how interesting/pretty they are. Have fun!

There is a 5 bird limit, though we would love to see as many pictures as you can get!
    I will be the judge.
The deadline will be August 11th (1 month from today)

Don't worry. It's a cross between two official breeds.

Official as in APA? I have some Red Star/ Golden Laced Polish mixes, but not sure you'd consider a Red Star and official breed.

Ok, so this would be a rule: If it has a name (like "Red Star"), it counts as a breed. If it's called a _____ and _______ cross or something like that, it's a hybrid

Heres' mine. She is a spalding peahen. She is a hybrid of a blue peacock (pavo cristatus) and a green peacock (pavo muticus)

[IMG] A hybrid is a cross between 2 different species. It is not the same as a mixed breed, which would be the same species.

Maybe you could be talking about mixed breeds. I do not think of them as hybrids, but maybe it depends of the definition you read.
