It can be very devastating. My husband has lost and uncle and grandmother to it, had 1 uncle survive it and 1 cousin in his 30s with 3 kids in end stage liver cancer that started as melanoma now fighting for his life. Here in AZ its so common you almost always know of someone who's had it.
My resolution for 2008: slather myself and everyone within arms reach of me with sunscreen! :aww
2007 has had some of the worst and best times of my life.
GOOD THINGS:
1. I joined BYC.
2. Got chickens.
3. Moved to a wonderful neighborhood.
4. Made friends for the first time in my life.
5. Got a horse.
6. Lived through another year!
BAD THINGS:
1. Lost my little sis.
2. Lost my sweet horse.
3. Lost my cute hedgehog.
4. Lost my fishey.
All in all more good happened than bad. I hope y'all have a blessed year! You are all so great!
My most mermorable moment is my first cruise to the Bahamas on the Carnival Victory and I will be taking another one in 2009 to the Eastern Carribean on the Carnival Valor ( I think, they may change it's route by then). Cruising is as addictive as having 2 legged feathered friends in one's backyard
In Feb. of last year, I had a hysterectomy (should have done it 10 years ago!!!) and now feel great after years of pain and "issues". But I did wind up with c-diff which was the nastiest 11 days I have ever spent, but I did lose 18 much needed pounds so that was a positive.
I did hurt my back in May at work which stinks, but I have a great job with great benefits and have been able to be off since then, almost completley, and have been paid this whole time. I am going back to work Feb. 5.
I GOT MY CHICKENS!!!! When Jessica wanted chickens I thought she was nuts, but thought it would be a good home school experience. What an amazing world has opened up to us. I never dreamed I would LOVE my chickens the way I do.
Built my first thing ever, a coop. Meet all you wonderful people and have an amazing online family here.
Tiramisu
I got my incubator for Christmas!!!! Thank you DH.
MOST IMPORTANTLY!! I am alive! After two kinds of Cancer (breast and thyroid) you don't take that for granted. I got 365 days with my children I may not have had and I am so grateful for everyone of them.
And my kids are happy healthy. Who could ask for more?
