Most money spent???

$1000 for an Alaskan Malamute in 1989

$1800 for a matress set 10 years ago. Hubby says I have to sleep on it til I'm 100.

$7000 to send my son to Japan this Summer for 2 weeks.

Our other big $ items are going back to Australia every 2 or 3 year at an average cost of $9000

It's amazing that we don't think twice about spending 'five figures' on a vehicle, but cringe at spending a few thousand $$ on a bedset~~!! Tell your husband if only ONE of you sleeps in that bed for 6 hours a night for the next 10 years, it will average out to 9 cents an HOUR ! Unless you work on the road, most of us spend considerably LESS than 6 hours a day in our cars and rarely keep them 10 years ... do the math! I say getting good sleep is extremely important to our health and wellbeing!

Anyway, I've spent $7,000 on a horse; $700 on a dog; $6,000 on an embroidery machine. I don't ride the $7,000 horse and I rarely use the embroidery machine (which I hope to change). The $700 dog is my constant companion (see avatar).

How about every time I need to put gas in my SUV

Last year it was costing $130 to fill up.
And you ever see the movie the money pit? That's our house, but on a much smaller scale. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but it sure feels like it sometimes.
Spent $6,000 on a covered deck.
$1,200 on a 120 foot long fence (the chickens made us do it)
and the big one...
$14,000 on new windows for the mud and sunrooms in the back of our house. Its all windows!

Oooh! I'm a Gammill girl here, what did you get?

And to stay on topic, um, the most we've ever spent on something not nessesary - that would be DH's airboat, and I think he paid about $4,000. He's wanted one since he was a kid

Okay, how about $6,000 on a German Shepherd puppy, no papers? It was $200 for the dog, and $5,800 to replace everything she ate (furniture, rugs, floor, walls, window sills, misc. items (non-edible): leashes, muzzles, candles, pens, markers, a bottle of antibiotic injectable, car parts, and our front porch. Is that crazy, or what??

Ooh! Can I sell you some high-dollar Silkies?

Well I am broke now. I have a $10k quilting machine.

Bet you could make some of that back by making Silkie quilts and selling them to ASBC club members.
