Most unusual chick-

We got some eggs from a gal nearby. This chick hatched out and is amazing. In the 24 hours since I took the photo the eyebrows are now this super light copper color. Any guesses what she/he will look like?

Is it a mix or purebred?

She's a mix but I just wondered if anyone had seen this copper color before?!

Both the darker hens resembled that chick when they were small, particularly the lighter of the two. They are Orpington/Ancona crosses.

Now I have a couple babies from those hens. The father is red in color. I’m eager to see how they develop. Mixes are so much fun!

I've had chicks that color. This is Duchess. She is a Black Star. She had similar colors when she was a chick.

That is a beautiful little chick. Looks like it might be a partridge rock, or possibly Egyptian fayoumis.

They came from her mixed pen. The daddy is a golden blue cuckoo maran rooster and the hens in the pen are red sex link, Rhode Island Red, leghorn, brown leghorn, Excequer leghorn

She/He is. The body isn't as light as those though. The body is mostly black with that bright copper. She's so fun to look at.
