I have a butternut squash from my garden that got a worm in it, it's a little "icky" from a human point of view, but it's not rotten, almost ripe insides but the rind is still a little bit green. It obviously has seeds in it. Is this OK to feed my chickens? Cut it in half and put the halves face-up in the coop? Will they eat the insides or the "shell", too? Should I take out the squash seeds? I think they should be able to digest them if they can digest corn...

You can just cut it in half and let them eat whatever they want. They'll probably leave the rind but will love the flesh and seeds.

HA - I cut it in half and put it on the ground in their run - they all flew away from the big scary orange things in a panic!!!

Eventually a Speckled Sussex or two came over and started pecking at it, then an EE jumped over one and they all panicked again...

I cut it into quarters and put it on top of a Rubbermaid tote lid as a "plate" - hopefully they will figure it out...

I just found a few of my not at all done butternut squash completely opened up and gutted by my chickens! Aaarghhh I cant seem to keep them out of my squash garden bed, they clearly love it!
