Hello I am new to the group. I have read several helpful advice in the past but justt now decided to join. I am barely learning the language..... I only got involved raising chicken because my son wanted to do this. He was all about raising chickens and wanting to eat healthy. So we build a fence, we built a coop... had some mother and son quality time. Now my son had to move but mother hen here has been left with raising and care.... most of all learning along the way. So I am beginning to learn from BYC.... Thx
 
Welcome! You will enjoy being Mother Hen - they are just as endearing as children (imho), and you can lock them up without CPS being called!

Thx everyone... I come across question everyday... right now i have a hen that has been sitting on on some eggs... hasn't come out... do I need to worry?

Sounds like she's maybe broody? Do you have a rooster in the mix? If not, get her off the eggs. No point in sitting on infertile eggs
