So, we have this pen, we call it "the summer pen" in our coop. Its got lots of air flow but not too much sunlight to keep them cool. Anyways, that is where the guineas have been for 8 weeks, getting used to "home" and I threw in 5 ducklings that hatched late, and then decided to toss in the 2 broodies that hatched last week. The ducklings are 3 weeks old, and everyone seemed to be getting along fine, but last night when I got home I noticed they were huddled in the corner. Odd, but maybe they were resting. Then right in front of me, one of the momma hens ran over, dragged one of the ducklings out by its neck, flipped it over, and I swear was trying to kill it. Needless to say I kicked her off of the poor baby and had my 6 yo son come help me move the ducklings to the "outside nursery" where they will be serperated from my flock by a fence so they can all get used to each other, but those dang hens cant try killing them. The hens are leaving the guineas alone, I dont know what they have against ducks?
