Mother In Laws

I had pneumonia in both my lungs and she had to tell me that she had QUADRUPLE pneumonia. I turned to her and asked, "Marie, just how many lungs to do think you have?"

It seemed to me like it was mostly women replying.. I always thought it was a man thing to not like our MIL..

I love mine.. she is 93 years old now and getting senile.. she did things that just drove her family nuts,, but we always laughed about it and kept loving her.. she raised 7 daughters and 2 sons and took care of her sick(bed ridden) husband until he died at 54 yrs old.. and yes, wives do take on the traits of their mothers.
It drives my bride nuts when I point out these things to her.

You are good. First she would have gotten the go to you know where look, them most likely would have had breakfast served in her lap. After that she could go to the closest breakfast place.

Now, back to reading.

I noticed my hubby being more like his Dad as he ages. His Dad became a bitter man, because he lost his sight in his early 20's and always resented family members for whatever reason. My DH isn't a bitter man, but every once in a while I see that "Dad" part showing up and I'll just say, "Wow, you sounded just like your Dad" he stops right there.

Well....I get along great with my MIL so I don't have any really horrendous stories. But I did punch a hole in her drywall once......
We lived with her for about 3 1/2 years while DH was finishing his degree and we were building a house, and we (DH and I) had this huge blow-up over where to put the third window in the master bedroom.....and I lost my temper and punched a hole in the wall......

OTOH, I did do most of the cooking and I still clean for her (although she pays me now that I don't live there anymore.)

you guys should've had my ex !@* in law. she actually asked for the pool furniture in court!!! not my ex husband SHE did.and i paid for the pool furniture by the way. my attorney and the judge reminded her i was married to her son, not her so she was not entitled to anything.
