Hi,
I’m in Newcastle Australia.
I have 4 x Isa brown hens. All started to lay right on the 20 week mark so I was thrilled to start getting 4 eggs per day.
6 months on and all is going well. We’re in a suburban situation but the girls have a lovely area to run around in, green grass and a cosy secure coup. I put bird spikes across the top of the 8 foot rendered walls we have around the property and it immediately had the right effect. No more escape attempts.
I now have one of my girls not laying and she seems to now be a bit of a loner. Mrs Brown is certainly the top bird in the group but poor Henrietta is now on the out.
I have noticed a slight snuffly sound and a bit of a head shake when she eats.
Ive wormed them twice now and also given them antibiotics.
It could just be an emotional thing (?)
