You guys crack me up. She said she opened the mail by mistake. 3 pieces of it??? And since then she is trying to tell me how I NEED to budget myself, etc. I did not even get into it with her that it is a disputed charge.

Tell her that its against the law to open your mail. And since you respect her enough to not report her then she should respect you enough to not open it. And if she still doesnt care and does it, then you should just start taking her mail and opening it. See how she likes it.

If it was only 3 pieces, you could give her the benefit of doubt, but if it happens again, I would send her a respectfulnote, she is your mother after all.

What check, she will ask.

The check that was in the envelope you opened. There was supposed to be a check in there.

Since she opened more than one of your letters, she will have to think about which one would have had a check.
