I am also working on them.... I won My Rooster on the Rare Breed Auction from Fancy Chick."Nellie"...she bought hatching eggs from Rose @ Mason Creek. ..and auction off her excess Roosters.......So I now have him with Black and Blue hens , to work on leg color .All of my hens have great leg color....He has the typical mottled legs ..Nellie said he hatched from a very good colored blue egg..and he's a nice big Black Mottled Rooster .......I am very interested in this project and plan to stick with it....I am posting a picture of my first chick to hatch from him.....I have the chick pictured with a Lavender Marans Chick, another project I've been working on for a few years....Glad I found this thread......~Charm

I have decided that I cannot keep multiple breeds, and am narrowing down my flocks. I just can't do them all justice. So, if anyone is interested I have a couple of adults for sale. Willing to ship, as I am NPIP certified, just need to get some boxes first. I have (2) blue and black lightly mottled cockerels. The blue, while lovely looking, has started showing some human aggression. I have "dealt" with it, and so far he has left me alone since. He has shown aggression towards another family member and a large dog who is bird-friendly. Unless someone *really* wants him, he will be headed to the freezer. I just wanted to offer. The black male has been fine. In addition, I have a blue split and two black split pullets. All birds were hatched late last spring. All pullets are laying. The girls are not looking their best since they are in breeding pens and have plucked each other's beards!! Message me if you are interested, and we can work something out. I will also have chicks available in a few weeks. I can get more pictures once the weather clears up around here (I'm in Vermont), Thank you!
