New to this breed. Mottled Houdan. Does this look like a pullet or cockerel? About 10 weeks old. Soooo friendly and GRUMPY looking, I love it! We thought it was a boy, but it seems a little too rounded, if they are similar to polish?

Ha! I'm in the same boat with the same exact breed with a chicken that looks exactly the same. When i research them, I find some that look like a mottled polish (hen) and then some that look much different but also claimed as a hen. SoNew to this breed. Mottled Houdan. Comb is iffy. Pink tone in face, maybe. Use same technique as with polish: it is wearing a pincushion or a cotton ball on its head?I have never sexed these before but I’m thinking boy. Can you push the feathers in the spot I circled back because I am pretty sure I see a comb.
I need to get a picture of it's face feathers pulled back. I did get these today though.Comb is iffy. Pink tone in face, maybe. Use same technique as with polish: it is wearing a pincushion or a cotton ball on its head?

Still hard to tell. The top pic with 2 in it, the one in the background looks rooish with the Doc Brown (Back to the Future) hair. The one you're asking about...wait for those pins on the back of the head to openI need to get a picture of it's face feathers pulled back. I did get these today though.
