Before we bought some fertilized eggs, we tried some that were in our fridge, for fun. One in five hatched (one other piped, but was sideways).

Motzy here is a family pet, with some cage mates in the incubator.

You sound like a youtuber I used to watch; he hatched quails from store bought eggs as well!
