    Hi everyone,

Just a quick question. After my flock was slaughtered last Easter, I have been out of chickens. Recently adopted an EE hen. She is currently living in a dog cage in my garden room. (Until I can make another run for my coop.)

She is going through moult, I believe, and there have been no eggs. I think she is going through moult because she spends 90% of her day preening ...

How long does moult continue ?

    Thanks, Eileen

IMO it depends on the bird. Some of mine are done in a couple weeks, some in a month, and some more... Hope this helps, it must be a killer waiting for those pretty eggs (sorry, I'm on a colored egg kick). [IMG]

My buttercup has been molting for 3 months now. She's back to looking normal, but still no eggs.
