There is an ad on craigslist for Mountain quail for $150 a pair or 3 pair for $400. I have always wanted some of these and I know they are expensive birds but really don't know if this is a fair price or maybe a little high? Anybody know what a pair goes for?

According To Any Auctions I Have Seen In The Past 6 Mos Thats A Fair Price... But Be Warned They Are Not Beginner Birds.

WOW!
I got mine for $65 a pair!

What is it about them that make them not beginner birds? Are they not as hardy as most quail? Need a special diet? Actually I am not new to quail, I have raised alot of breeds over the years and still have African Harliquins, Ga. giant bobwhites and of course the Cortunix and Buttons, as well as the Snowflake Mexican Speckled. I have alot of quail:)

They Are Very Difficult To Start As Hatchlings... Otherwise Relatively Similar To Other New World Speces In Most Aspects
