Mouth breathing

I think this is a respiratory infection. The first hen I posted about stopped breathing weird but now my other hen has bubbly eyes. I have 4 chicks, should I treat the whole flock with tiaguard? Even the chicks?

Bubbly/foamy eye sounds like MG. MG is very contagious to other birds. Its easily passed from wild birds to your flock. Once a bird gets MG its always a carrier of it. Some birds have MG and dont show symptoms their whole life. How old are the 4 chicks? Im assuming they have been exposed to the birds that are showing symptoms?

VetRx is like Vick’s vaporub for chickens. It can help them breathe a little easier at night but it won’t cure anything. I rub it on my hands to warm it up then rub it under their wings where they tuck their heads to sleep at night. You can rub it on their nares as well but if they’re congested you’ll get boogers on your hands.

Oh no.. so I got the tiagard and gave it to all of them. The chicks are 3-5 months old they have their own little run like a small chicken coop inside the chickens shed. The chicken that has the bubbly eyes is doing this now..

Ok thats good the chicks are semi seperated so you can dose them separately from the others. Im not 100% sure of the dosage but im guessing the chicks will need a different dosing rate. MG is a respiratory infection, chickens eyes are tied to their nasal passages so thats why they get bubbly eyes with this infection. The wheezing is the infection in her lungs, she is probably shaking her head and stretching her neck trying to clear the mucus. Might want to get some nutridrench if you dont have any. Its a liquid vitamin that is quickly absorbed. We will hard boil some eggs and chop them up really small and feed a tablespoon or 2 with a few drops of nutridrench on it. Eggs are packed full of the nutrients for chickens and they love them and the nutridrench will give a little added boost. But I would keep giving them all the tiaguard.

You can also take some of that vetrx and rub some of under her wings, on her neck, and a little on her beak. Like someone mentioned, its like vicks vapor rub, so it will help her air passages open up some.
