You might want to look into building it on posts, so you can easily load it onto a trailer and relocate.

I think you've arrived at a good solution. Building your coop on runners will give you great flexibility. You might reconsider your size choice though. 8 x 8 isn't very big. We built ours 10 x 12 (actually bought the building and converted it). We used 4 x 10 of it for our 'human' area for our supplies, etc. That left 8 x 10 for the 'chicken' area. We figured that would be enough space for 18 to 20 hens, but after getting it done and configured, I don't think it will hold that many.I think I am going to build an 8x8 and build it on runners so I can drag it with the tractor/drag it on to my flat bed with the winch. I will have to start a new thread on building this coop! Thanks guys!
