The reason you want it higher is for the air cell to "grow" for them to pip into. Had you calibrated the temp & humidity prior? Update us with chick pics![]()
I didn’t calibrate ahead of time. When my broody stopped sitting it was overnight so the eggs were not being kept warm for anywhere between 1-8 hours. I hurried out and quickly bought the incubator, got it to temp and put the eggs in. I was in a hurry, but I actually thought I had already lost all the chicks, until I candled and saw movement still. To be honest, I assumed I was buying the incubator for nothing when I first moved them in. :/
Before I officially lock down tomorrow I’m going to buy a hygrometer... my feed store didn’t have one, strangely lol. The temp is good, I have a thermometer in there and it’s accurate just the darn humidity is low.
