I moved my 4 week olds out into the coop over the weekend. Still have a few finishing touches to do, but it's sealed up and safe I think, and plenty warm for them. I used the light the first night, but took it out after that. When I opened the coop this morning, there were three up on the roosts and I got one little squeaky sort of crow from a roo!
I'm almost certain I have at least 3 roos, and I think one more, but I'm hoping no more than that. The three already have red combs. Some of the others are pink but not like these three. And they challenge each other all the time and do the chest bump and stare down. They look like little boys on the playground!
I've been taking pictures along as we built so I hope to be able to sit down and build a page soon. I'm enjoying this so much! Even DH is warming up to them. He said yesterday 'if you get rid of the roosters, you're gonna have to get some more to replace them aren't you?' Well I guess I am at that. I'm glad you suggested that dear!
Gotta love that man!
