It was a long hard day getting everything ready, including building a fence to divide the coop and give the little guys their space separate from the big hamburg girls. "Big" is kind of funny because probably in the near future the new chicks will be quite a bit bigger, the Australorps for sure!
But for now they're babies. They sure seem happy with all the extra room and the hamburgs went over to the fence to check them out but didn't seem too freaked out. I was worried the Hamburgs wouldn't sleep in the coop tonight because of the turmoil of total shaving removal/spreading of new + new room mates and a fence- they do NOT like surprises!! But they came in just fine and so all the chickens are content at the moment.
Oh yeah- the ladder is just a temporary roost until I can make them a proper one tomorrow.
