Everytime i see the Blues Brothers on cable, I have to stop and watch a few minutes.
My dad was terminally ill with late stage cancer back in 1994 and I stayed with him when my mom had to have surgery and was in the hospital herself.
I was trying to cheer him up a bit and I had him watch that movie with me - I knew he'd love the rediculous chase scenes. Was the last time I actually saw him snicker at something - he died about a month later.
When i see that movie it reminds me of my dad's weird sense of humor. Something not many people saw in him at all. He was a retired Colonel from the Army, and Korean POW and I think most people thought he never had anything but serious moments. Getting him to smile at that stupid movie was one of his gifts to me before he passed on.
