Oh goodness, I didn’t think of this. Sorry to inconvenience you further on this, but do you know how I might go about looking this up? What wording I should use, or where to get this information?
The department of agriculture would be the place to look. They are will be the ones that put restrictions on movement of plants and animals. You local animal control may also be able to provide information where to look.

Nevada doesn't have NPIP if your currently certified in Texas, and from what I've read they don't seem to be very strict. Welcome from SW Nevada!
California is definitely more strict, but going through multiple states, it is possible one is more strict than another. I sort of doubt it with Arizona and New Mexico, but avian influenza could change things.

If cost of 'caging' is a factor, you might consider 'tall', cheap, plastic laundry baskets. Something like this ought to do the trick https://www.sterilite.com/product-page.html?product=12218004
Note the hefty lip at the bottom edge, with excellent air circulation all the way around. Best of all, when you're finished with the move, you can repurpose them for not just laundry baskets, but towel bins (for clean towels if your new place is short on space), toy bins for the kids, and with a plastic bag inserted can even substitute for tall trash bins in the house.

Thinking outside of the box has become my specialty since I moved to Panama (laughs). Dog crates, even the cheapo type START AT about $200 each (for the small ones). Prices are high on this sort of thing due to the need to import.
