Hey all! I need some advice. There is a distinct possibility that I will be moving unexpectedly to a different state this summer and, if that happens, my birds would be coming along. However, I do have quite the flock. Here's what I've got:
47 hens
6 roosters
5 ducks
23 pigeons (18 Homers, 5 Ports)
+2 goats and a rabbit
Now, ideally, I'd group the birds in large dog crates, but with this many birds, that's just a lot of crates. Obviously, the pigeons would all need to be in cages of some kind, but could the chickens be loose in a large livestock trailer of some kind? And would the roosters be stressed so close to each other? I currently have all of these birds in different flocks and in different coops, so it'd be mixing flocks too. The different types of pigeons would be separated too ideally. Plus, I'm in Colorado and summers here get pretty darn hot. How would I keep them all relatively cool? Again, nothing's decided, but I'd love some help thinking through a game plan. How would you move them all? Thanks for any help!
