I have incubated hundreds of shipped eggs and this is what I have learned.
After receiving shipped eggs I will unwrap them and candle right away. 1. I look for hairline cracks that I cant see by just looking at them. Those are discarded, I dont like to take the chance of trying to seal it back up. 2. If the air sac will go from the fat end all the way to the small end it is no good. I dont even waste the bator space on them. Also if the air sac is in many small bubbles, no good. If it move part of the way in the egg but is not totally loose you have about a 50/50 chance of a hatch. With those eggs it is best to candle on day 18 and set the eggs so the the largest area is to the top. After candling right away I then let them sit for the 12 to 24 hours and put them in the bator. Unfortunately the PO doesnt have to crunch the box to destroy the eggs. Jenn
