We live in Fl and its mostly hot. Should or can you give baby chicks (very expensive lavenders) Corid if your main flock has already been treated because of an outbreak? Chicks are currently in a pen in a spare warm room. They have already been vaccinated for Mareks. I would hate to have anything happen to them when i mix them with older chicks. They will stay contained but in the same 12X12 stall.

If they don't have coccidiosis then I wouldn't see a need to treat the chicks with corid but rather give them medicated chick feed as a preventative unless they're showing symptoms of having coccidiosis as well. I've never dealt with it personally though and I've never even fed medicated chick feed. I usually tell people getting chicks from me that if they have never experienced an issue then it's likely not necessary to give medicated feed, on the other hand when you have a preexisting issue in the flock then to switch the chicks to medicated feed and after a few days of them eating it also give them a clump of dirt and grass in the brooder to develop a resistance. I haven't had a single person tell me this hasn't worked for them but maybe someone else will have other tips. I hope that gives you a little comfort on the subject either way! Good luck with your bitties!

Sounds great for they are already on medicated chick feed.
