small town ohio
I have ten seven week old chicks and would like to move them outside. I live in ohio. The coop currently has seven older girls living there (wyandotts, buff brahma, golden buff). Is it okay to put them together or do I need a buffer of sorts so they don't get picked on? My babies are cochins, brahmas, and wyandotts.

Do you have somewhere you could put the little ones so that they could be in with the old girls but with fencing between them? I think that is the general answer you will get. That way they can all get used to one another but the little ones will be safe from the bigger ones, kwim?

I can move the brooder into the coop. It's a wired dog crate so they will have protection. I was considering doing that, but wasn't sure if I needed to. I think I'll be doing that today. Thanks for the confirmation :)
