Moving chicks outside…

I moved mine out at 5-6 weeks old. They were mostly feathered and trying to fly out of their brooder. They had had a few field trips to the back yard during the day already. ( Which they loved) I live in a colder climate and they did fine. Lowest degree probably around 36. No heat in coop

They can go out at any age (with a proper heat source). Otherwise it depends on temperature, if they're acclimated to outside temps, how well they're feathered, type of bird.

Mine are thankfully going outside to their forever home next week at 6 weeks old!! I could probably put them out now but I still have a few hours of fortifying to do on the run before I take them out. They're ready and I'm passed by ready!! :)

We moved ours out at seven weeks. But if it’s really warm, you can introduce them at about five.
Best of luck!
