Afternoon everyone!
One of my chicks in the brooder has dried egg...gunk is all i can think to describe it...stuck to her...is it still okay to move her out of the incubator or should i try to remove the stringy bit??
It will eventually dry off and fall off. If you are concerned, wash her off with warm soapy water and return to to the brooder dry and fuzzy. Good luck with your new babies !!!
I would advise against removing it. It’s the cord that attaches the chick to the yolk sack. You can trim it but don’t try to pull it or it could injure the chick. It should fall off within a day Well done on such a great hatch rate.
