We have seven three week-old chicks and two 2 week old chicks that are in a bruder in the house they are getting pretty big for it. If we move them to the garage and move their heat plate and put it inside the finished coop inside the garage would that be life threatening or harsh on there immune system? I'm just afraid that they're going to start fighting inside the brooder so I figured with more room they could do more and not be so cramped. The average temperature in the mornings is 35 and afternoons are mid-to-high 40s. Need some insight please

The garage should be good as long as they have a warmer place (heat plate or heat lamp) to retreat to. I have brood 2 week old chicks in the garage in the cold of winter in January (temps in the garage 25-45* F) and they all 2 yrs old now and healthy. The key is plenty of room and clean water and sorroundings (brooder/coop) as well as source of heat if they needed it. I’d been brooding chicks in the garage for 5 yrs now from January-April (depends on the chicks availability) and my egg production target dates and had never lost a single chick/chicken ever. Knock on wood. Just watch their activities and needs. Good luck.
