Moving conundrum, what to do?

It’s my first time growing out ducklings, and of course I’m moving at what I feel is an awful time for them! I have 10, five and a half week old ducklings who are currently in my garage. I am moving soon and will only have an outdoor duck house to keep them in, but I am worried that it will still be too cold for them at night (night temp ranges from 38-50degrees right now). They’re in the awkward stages of feathering out, their fronts and tails are nice and sleek now, but their heads and backs are still all fluff haha The duck house is solid, with ventilation up high on two sides that aren’t facing the wind, but I have no way of running electricity to it right now so they would not have any heat. Would they be too cold in there at night without a heat source? Would it help if I put a dogloo or something in there for them to huddle up in together if they get too cold?

If you have them out of a breeze it should be ok. Is there a way you can adjust them over a day or too so they are not shocked by the temp difference?

I have been opening up the garage door further and longer each day to get them acclimated to the ~50 degree daytime weather at least, but I always close it at night because I don’t want any opportunistic predators sneaking in. There are 2 screened windows I could leave open at night maybe?

Ducklings don't need heat as long as chicks. Often by 4 weeks they are done. What temp is the brooder?
It’s around 66 degrees last time I checked it. The garage temperature fluctuates a bit from day to night, but the brooder stays fairly consistent and they are never clustered near their heat lamp at all.

It is not recommended for ducks to be outside below 60 degrees until they are fully feathered. They should be fully feathered in 2-3 weeks. Are you moving before then?

Someone else who loves in colder temps may have a good idea what you can do.

I will likely be moving next week, but it’s still a bit up in the air. Hopefully it stretches out to 2 weeks since that sounds like it would be more ideal.

I wait until my babies are feathered before they move out to the coop for good. But every day they get to go out and enjoy the weather which really helps the feathers come in faster. And acclimates them to outdoor temps.
