Yesterday was moving day for my flock. We've been building their coop & outdoor run for the past 6 weeks & it's finally finished enough for the girls to go in. It started with catching them to walk them out, some of my girls are more hand tamed than others. Honestly I was dreading this part but it was a lot easier than I had imagined. Once I picked them up & carried them out they became surprisingly calm & even snuggled into me a little. After they all were in the coop I let them explore around for a bit before opening the outside run. Once I opened the outside run there was some crying & some very unsure chick behavior for awhile. They kept looking out the door but were to scared to go out. After some coaxing I realized it was going to take extreme treats to get my scaredy cats outside. So I put a plate of their favorite, yogurt & grapes at the base of their ramp & placed grapes leading down. Well, their stomachs won out & sure enough one by one slowly came down. Now they love the outdoor area & it took 2 of us to get them in that night, lol. We still have some finishing to do on the coop but overall I'd say it's a hit!
