Next week (depending on weather) is moving day to the coop! I do believe some are ready and fully feathered...mainly because they love flying out of the coop 😂. But I’m so nervous about it since it’s cold. Someone bring me some peace. Will straw and pine bedding really do the trick?

Well couple nights in the 20s. But I’d say this is the coldest it’s been. Usually it’s 35-50 degrees

Do a test run on the coop temps and check inside temp vs outside temp to see how low in goes in the coop?

My coop is huge so it would be hard for young chicks.

I'll assume they have no heat source in the house?
Can be good to cool the room by opening a window.
and do day trips outside in the coop.
As long as the coop is dry and draft free they should be fine.
Might try a huddle box.
Huddle Box
Make them a 'huddle box', put it in the brooder after turning off the heat(you might have to 'persuade' them to use it) then move it out to the coop with them.

Cardboard box with a bottom a little bigger than what they need to cuddle next to each other without piling and tall enough for them to stand in.

Cut an opening on one side a couple inches from bottom and big enough for 2-3 of them to go thru at once.

Fill the bottom with some pine shavings an inch or so deep.
This will give them a cozy place to sleep/rest, block any drafts and help hold their body heat in.
