Moving ducks across country? Airplane trip?

Maybe you could teach them?

Sorry, know this isn't funny to you.

Shipping the ducks in a horizon shipper is in no way bad for thier health. I have got over 60 ducks shipped to me never lost one. they are just a tad thirsty like any other animal would be after no water for a day or 2. But they are just fine.

I would suggest you look for a home locally. For one, you could meet the people personally and inspect their home and how the ducks would be kept. I've had good luck advertising on Craig'slist, but you do need to check to be sure they are telling you the truth as to their home, etc. I've found some great homes for older ducks, so give it a go. The people in CA ought to be able to find ducks very easily on CL too without the huge price and stress of shipping your pets there.

They are very special girls- they were originally raised indoors by my old roommate. They are not as dependent to living inside as my two spoiled ducks, but they require a lot more people time than normal ducks. They really love being petted and talked to. They will take to diapering, though I've been transitioning them away from it. I've been able to winter them down to being perfectly okay in 40 degree temps. It's been a year long fostering process to get them used to a different lifestyle, but so far they are taking to it. They'd have to go to a special home where it doesn't get too cold (or where they can go inside during super cold nights) and with someone who wants a cuddling duck to play with. It's been a difficult process to find/get them ready for a new home. I can keep holding onto to them until at least June, but I figured it might be better to get them to a home where they can experience winter with other "winterized" ducks. Perhaps I'll post around here a bit!

just skimmed everyone else's posts...

I sent 2 mute swans in horizon shipping boxes yesterday at 2:30 with express mail. They get stressed out easily by the way...
anywho by 11:02 this morning i got a call from the lady in georgia i sent them to saying they had made it and where in good condition.
I just put bedding inside the box and put feed and cucumber (as moisture) to help them along.
