Moving eggs?

If my hens lay eggs outside, can I move them inside the coop to the box? Will she still set on it?

my experience with broodies is limited, but if she is leaving the nest for you to gather the eggs, she may not be truly broody, and thus, won't set the eggs.
Just my initial thought. I'm sure an expert will be along shortly with more experience and some good advice.
