This is about hatching eggs so I put it here.

I have a hen settin on 6 eggs, and has been for 8 days now. My question is if I were to move here and the eggs to a dog house I've made into a brooder and stuffed it with wheat straw, would she stay there or try to go back to the coop.

My problem is the other hens don't want to lay in the coop with her in there. They've just about all started laying in the brooder during the day.

What can I do here? I really don't want them to get into a bad habit.

I have tried that with banty hens in the past & they abandon the nest most of the time. Once they hatch a baby or two I have been able to move them successfully.

I have tried to move my broody twice. She wants nothing to do with it. I finally gave up and let her sit where she wants. I plan on moving her as soon as they hatch because she is in a next box quite a bit off the ground.
