Moving flock from old coup to new coop

I'm considering building a new chicken coop, will the move disrupt the recently started egg laying ? Will I need to keep them locked in the new coop so they will accept as their new home ?

I finally had to lock the old one up becasue picking them off the roosts and moving 6 full grown birds was a bit much!

Thanks Sonew123. That was along my thoughts, although, I'm not looking forward to the neighbors catching me carrying the chickens to their new roost.
