Moving from Colorado Springs to Omaha

Hi all!
I'm moving from Colorado Springs to NE and want to take some of my girls with me. It is about a 9 hour drive and I'm wondering what people's suggestions are. I've heard about doing large kennels and putting pine shavings, food and water in with them but I wasnt sure if this would be the best idea. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Personally, I wouldn't want food and water in there for the whole time. If I stopped for a bathroom break, I would offer it to them during that time, but then remove it after. Too much risk of things getting knocked over or spilled.

I agree with @Isadora T it's best not to offer up food especially water during the drive. You might stop for breaks every couple few hours though and offer water and treats. I have moved birds in the past, they seem to do well in a big wire dog crate with a sheet thrown over top so they can't see out. Enjoy your move!
