We are about to move our 8-11 week old chicks out of the green house that we have been keeping them in and into an enclosed coop and run on grass. We have already dealt with a bout of cocciwhateverucallit and lost two chicks and I have heard that they get it from free ranging/being out on grass. I normally take them out a few at a time most days to let them peck around in the garden while I water or hang around.

What precautions should I take or steps to take during this transition or any words of warning or advice?

Thanks,
Alex

If they have already had cocciodious then they should have built up immunities to your local bugs. It is mostly a disease that young chicks get. They should have no problems going out on the grass.
