Hi!
I am getting ready to transfer my chicks to a coop outside. I have three coops. One of them houses my egg laying hens and my rooster. My other coop has one hen in there by herself. We rescued her and doctored her up from a bad wound. My last coop is empty and I have used it as a transition coop when I just had two coops. I am curious if I can move the chicks in there with her or if I just need to put them in their own coop. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

If the hen Isn’t sick and she isn’t mean to them than it could work
Thank you! She’s doing good. She had a wound on her back. We’ve had her quarantined since March and her wound is healed now. She’s been having a hard time inter grading with the rest of the flock, so she’s been by herself in her coop/run. We’ve tried a couple times and she is scared of the others 😞. So I thought putting them with her for a bit might be ok. I’ve mad a lot of mistakes hatching these babies out and I really don’t want to mess this part up. 😣

Best to put the chicks in a separate coop to start. Just because this hen is recovering from injury doesn't mean she'll be "nice" to chicks. Often low ranked birds are the meanest to chicks.
