Moving to Bartow County, Ga

Hello, It looks like my job will have me moving to Georgia later this year. I am looking at the Bartow County area. Does anyone have chickens in their back yard? We have five chickens that we have raised since they were two days old. they are family pets with names that live in our backyard and gives us eggs. My family will not move without them. looking for areas that allow chickens in the back yard. any help would be appreciated.

Hello, and Welcome to BYC. It looks like you will need at least 2 acres of land to have chickens in Bartow co. I live in Gilmer co. Georgia.

Thanks for replying to my post. Do you need two acres in Gilmer County? It is hard to find two acres in my price range.

I'm sorry it took so long to reply. I couldn't find any restrictions in Gilmer co. other than a 10 domestic animal limit, unless you have a pet/livestock dealers license.(Basically you pay the state $35.00 and they give you a license.)http://agr.georgia.gov/poultry-dealer-broker-app.aspx
