moving to the coop

wondering when it would b ok to move my chicks from the garage where i keep them under the heat lamp to the coop i was thinking around the age of 5 weeks but was not for sure

It depends on the temperature of outside and how feathered the chicks are. Will they need additional heat during the night? Usually 5-6 weeks is about the norm, but again - if it's still frosting at night (not sure how old they are right at the moment) then you might want to wait a bit until it's warm enough over night for them to survive. If you plan on doing it soon, be sure to start weaning them off the heat so it won't be a shock.

right now they are two weeks and the temp is fluctuating but next week its suppose to be a constant high 60s to 70 and lows of 45 to 50
