Mr.Bear Broke in This Morning...

A Bear finally found our coop! He opened up the hen box and broke a waterer. no hens wherre harmed though, it wuz at 530 am

He'll be back. Time to invest in an electric fence.

that is my fear... we had a 650lb black bear next to our pond.... which is about 20 feet from where our coop is now...... If i'm not mistaken... we hadn't yet gotten the chickens.... I hope we don't have another...... it was HUGE! I love them but not if they love my chickens.... good luck! do whatever you can to protect those birds!

We surrounded our coop with 2 inch stucco wire (cheap) stood off the side with electric fence wire insulators. No more bears, raccoons, cayotes, or anything else go near the coop including my dog and cats (Ooops!

) One snuff around seems to teach a lesson not to be forgotten.

The nose is such a delicate and vulnerable point.
