Mrs. Viss' Classroom Hatch-a-Long!

Gooooood morning! We are on day 13 of incubation! We will be having another candling today, and I will do my darndest to try and remember to snap some pictures! Fingers crossed everyone is still developing and growing. The next time we candle will be day 18 before we head into lockdown. Woohoo!!

I will update this post with our findings today!🧐

Side Note, question for experienced hatchers: Our 1st day of lockdown is technically Saturday, I was wondering, would it be bad to set them into lockdown on Friday afternoon before I leave the classroom? By that I mean, remove the egg turner/stop turning the eggs, and raise humidity to 65-70%? It would technically be a day early, or half a day early. I live an hour away from the school, and I wouldn't mind coming in to do it on Saturday, but I'm just wondering if it would have an adverse effect to set it up for lockdown a touch early. I will be setting up a camera to monitor humidity and temp while I am gone. Let me know!

I always set lockdown on Fri when I hatch at school. As long as you can maintain humidity the whole time!

I have to just share that I love when you post this gif, because every time we have candled Cashew's egg, that is exactly what she looks like in there, lol! Same movement, same shape. 🤣
She's a busy growing girl in there, she may have been last one in but she's not gonna be last to hatch! :jumpy

:celebrate go Cashew my little dancing queen!! Look pretty for your candle picture! ❤️

You can definitely lock down on Friday, a little early on the lockdown isn't going to hurt anyone.

Let's go classroom cuties! Get your wiggle one

Technically you can lock down as early as day 16 on chicken eggs with no adverse effects. Go for it!

Amazing news. All eggs are growing beautifully. Plus, I remembered to photograph!! I am over the moon, they were amazed, I was amazed, I am praying all the eggs hatch next week! Here are your sweet chickadees! I found that the brown eggs were easiest to see into, but hardest to capture on photograph for some reason, the blue eggs were harder to see in person but showed up better in the picture. Hopefully you're able to see them, some are a little blurry because it was hard to keep still. Sorry!!
