It makes sense bc she's the top dog in the pecking order & the others don't peck her.

Possible the cause be just like stated in the article, but don't always make assumptions that just because one is top hen that they can't be picked on, especially while roosting.

It's urates in feces scalding her rear end causing redness, swelling and irritation. She is most likely rubbing her chest on the roost at night. Wrap an old towel around the roost.
The Nu-Stock will heal both areas.
