it's okay now. i just wish i could've done something about it. i'm just glad this doesn't happen to us on a regular basis like it does to all the other people i know around here who have chickens.

I haven't lost a chicken in a long time, which is a good thing obviously. I rarely lose 'em to predators, while a friend of mine ALWAYS does..

I have only lost two chickens to predators in the 3 years that I have owned them. I lost a lot to illness in the first year because my first chickens were ones that I rescued from horrible conditions. The two that I lost from predators were from raccoons. It was an AWFUL thing to see first thing in the morning when I walked into the coop. Raccoons are vicious.
