MT HEALTHY Bargain #3

i dont like that they allow small children to handle the birds because of the risk of disease transmission to the birds or to the child. i love getting chicks in the spring but i agree that the lack of knowledge can be overwhelming especially at an animal feed supply store. Luckily i do know chicks apart so getting chicks is not a problem for me but i always see people with their tiny children buying pekin ducks etc. saying "awwww they are so cute and tiny". well i'm sorry but they grow fast and can be very messy which people don't always know. I have gotten pekin ducks and i love them but most people do not understand how big they get and that they need a lot of care. i love raising poultry and i love showing my birds.
i support that people have a limit on the minimum # of birds they can purchase because i have seen multiple times in the past years where tiny tiny children want just one duckling or just one chick and they don't even realize that they are social and inquisitive creatures.I do understand that some may already have chickens and just want one but that could cause future problems when trying to introduce it to the others, but some places allow people to make purchases of one and i just don't feel that that should happen!SORRY for ranting !!!!!!!

i just want the birds to be well cared for and in a social environment.

Has anyone ordered this. I have ordered from hatchereies in the past and plan on ordering straigh pukllets too but thought about trying this too., Just wondering what everyone got if they ordered it. I am planning on doing the Cackle surprise later this years from the HUGE response i saw from someone elses post on here yesterday.
I ordered Mt Healthy Bargain #3 last spring, I was very pleased, all one breed, never counted the number of pullets, the breed they sent me was partridge rock
