mt. healthy meat birds or best place to get them

i am thinking of perchasing 200 cornish rocks from mt healthy
looking for feedback and or opions
its the bargin chicks 200 for .25 cents a piece

I don't think they are cornish rocks but more of dual purpose roosters. I did get some hens in the group when I ordered from them though.
 
your right there not wheres the best place to order meat birds
 
I have cornish rocks from Mt. Healthy (through the local feedstore).

I only got 5 of them, and they are about 5 weeks old and doing fine.

Yeah those chicks in the bargain special you mentioned are specifically NOT cornish x rocks. They are generally unwanted cockerels that the hatchery wants to get rid of due to their limited market value.

If you just want some birds for the fun of it, and don't mind waiting a few months for some marginal meat yield then go for it.

I have friends that buy these assortments and let them free range all summer and then butcher them for soup birds, etc.
